CPT - Mixed Media Presentation

Note: No Cameras will be available during the Exam Time .... this time is for final editing only)

This assignment should demonstrate the skills and processes developed throughout TGJ3M.  In this assignment you will combine Google Apps, Premiere, Photoshop stills, Photoshop Animation(optional), Stop Action (animate or inanimate objects) and Live Video to prepare video that is 5 - 10 minutes in length (you will be deducted if under or over) and a promotional website for that video. You may work in groups of 2 or 3 (no more) to shoot your stills and video.   Each person must then use sections of that footage and combine it with the other sections to produce a unique final product. (i.e. Different ending, beginning, plot, story) Each person must produce their own website, synopsis, poster and trailer.

Description:

Your video company is releasing a short movie that is 5 to 10 minutes in length. Your task is to create the video and a promotional package for it.. The package must include:

1. A website
2. A copy of your storyboard
3. An information page about the movie that includes release dates, production company information, reviews .....etc.
4. A synopsis/description of the movie
5. Drawings/pictures and descriptions of the characters in the movie. At least one character must be completely drawn by you!
6. A movie poster
7. A movie trailer that is exactly 30 seconds in length. (Use footage from the actual movie)
8. The movie ...which must contain photoshop stills, photoshop animation(optional), stop action video, live action video(max 70%)
9. Something original ......

Step 1 - Decide on the movie and how it will integrate stop action, live action, photoshop stills, and photoshop animation(optional), the live action portion may not exceed 70% of the time. Submit a storyboard or movie summary that clearly indicates how each will be used.

Step 2 - Design a logo for your movie using photoshop. It must be completely drawn by you and may not use any clipart. See http://www.boxofficereport.com/media/movielogos.shtml for ideas.

Step 3 - Create your movie website in google sites.

Create new site .... name your site. Link to your new site on the CPT page of your current site.
Choose a theme
Under more options ............. site description "Your name - CPT", under site Catetgory "SPX"
Create your site
Under more options > site layout change your site logo to your movie logo.

Create the following pages:

Information
Characters
Movie Poster
Trailer
The Movie
Optional Page

Step 4 - On the "Information" page write a 2 paragraph synopsis/description of your movie. Use tables, borders, text effect and graphics to make the page interesting. You should also include information about the video company releasing the movie as well as any other information that you feel is important.

Step 5 - On the "Characters" page of your website post the images and descriptions of the characters in your movie. At least one character must be hand drawn in photoshop by you, the other characters could be real people or objects. Take pictures of them and post.

Step 6 - Using photoshop create a movie poster. Be sure to include your company logo. See http://www.moviepostershop.com/landing/movie-poster.asp?gclid=CJ_P4d328agCFU5qKgoda2i_Gw Post the poster on the "Movie Poster" page of your website.

Step 7 - Create and edit your movie. Make sure it includes all the necessary components - logo, proudly presents, title, the movie, credits, ........ Post it on your website. Remember each group member must produce a different movie ........... All titles and credits must be created in photoshop and should demonstrate the skills and ideas that you learned. (i.e. text effects, overlays, backgrounds, removing backgrounds, combining elements etc.)

Step 8 - Using footage from your movie, create a movie trailer. Post it on your website. http://www.traileraddict.com/

Step 9 - Create your optional page. It can be anything you want. Be creative!!

Step 10 - Complete the CPT Rubric. Make sure to give me the exact link to your website and to check that everything has been shared.


Note: If your video is to big to post on your website upload it to youtube and link to it on your site, or submit it on a disk or usb stick.
